Senior Electrical Design Engineer
We have a vacancy at our Shipbuilding Facility for a Senior/Principal Electrical Designer reporting to the Chief Electrical Designer.
Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:
To carry out, as part of the team, tasks associated with the concept and detailed design of electrical systems on Naval vessels and any other Shipbuilding projects undertaken in the future.
Other duties will include analysis, definition and preparation of technical specifications for:
Power generation and distribution systems.
Power conversion machinery.
Platform Management Systems.
Lighting systems.
Detection systems.
Lightning protection.
Degaussing systems.
Flight deck and hangar electrical services.
Cathodic protection.
Travel may be required of this role.
Role Requirements:
The Successful Candidate will:
The Electrical Design Engineer will need to cross all disciplines of engineering but particular experience and competence in the Electrical/ Hull and Outfit area is highly relevant
Be from a Shipbuilding background, or from a relevant Marine background
Ideally educated to degree or HND standard (or equivalent) If you are a member or applying for membership of the IEE this would be advantageous
Be able to communicate effectively as part of a multi disciplined team, with their team and customers.
Be able to demonstrate good presentation skills and have a working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
