The Unique Opportunity

The oxford based finance team is seeking to acquire an experienced payroll executive to complete a nine month contact of employment. The position will involve taking complete responsibility of the UK payroll operation, whilst also providing some supervisory support to the Accounts Payable function.

The successful candidate will have previous payroll experience, whilst possessing the ability to communicate effectively across various business units and establish strong internal working relationships. Candidates must also demonstrate an extremely professional and proactive working practice, with a high level of business acumen.

Qualifications, experience and Knowledge

Essential:

Previous experience within a fast paced payroll function (experience with ADP software application would be desirable but not essential).
Some accounts knowledge (ideally AAT qualified) and an understanding of how payroll integrates into the larger accounting function.
Strong IT skill, especially Excel.
Experience of calculating commissions and expenses.
Knowledge of payroll legislation and documentation.
Willingness to be involved in special projects and other accounting responsibilities.
Willingness to take personal ownership of the entire UK payroll function and assisting with the processing of the wider European & African payroll.
A team player who is comfortable interacting with senior management.
Previous experience/knowledge of Accounts Payable process.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to forge strong internal working relationships.
Able to meet monthly targets and work under pressure.
