We are looking for an experienced, caring, part-time nanny for this family who have three boys, I (9), S (7) and J (3 -June 2009). I and S have no additional needs - J has Down's syndrome and has significant developmental delay. J is PEG fed (using a Mickey) and we are looking for someone who can help J to eat orally. J has no serious health problems and physically, is cruising along the furniture and is a very fast crawler. He is non-verbal and has recently started to use Makaton. The typical daily routine will involve - Start at 8am - take I to school (1 mile away) for 8.55am. Then morning activity with J (to include - Portage/Jo Jingles/physiotherapy/Conductive Education and mother and toddler groups). On days with no fixed commitments the nanny and J will play at home (doing homework from Portage and conductive education!) or go on trips e.g soft play, library, supermarket (which is almost a social occasion - everyone knows him now and stops for a chat!). Then it's lunch at about 12.30. Then J usually sleeps for between 1 and 1.5 hrs; school run at 3.20pm; then playing at home, feeding the children, helping with homework amongst other duties until 6pm. J loves music and singing, playing with balls, looking at books, hanging out in the garden, playing with his brothers and the hoover! I and S are boisterous boys who play together extremely well so we are looking for someone energetic and resourceful who will enjoy spending time with all three boys.
