Hays Education are lookingfor a SEN TA/Intervener to workat an SEN Schoolin Exeter. The role will include assisting in swimming lessonsin the mornings and supporting a student with visual and hearing impairments.You may also be required to follow a set procedure to measure the blood sugar levels of this student.
You need to be a strong swimmer, be confident in your knowledge of core subjects (English, Maths and Science). We are looking for candidates with relevant referenceable experience in an education setting. Candidates must be patient and empathetic towards pupils and have a real interest in working with SEN pupils.

Job roles + duties

To assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction of the head teacher, SENCO or class teacher
To assist in the implementation of IEPs
To provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom
To work with other professionals including external agencies
To assist class teacher with maintaining student records
To support pupils with behaviour and emotional difficulties
To develop social skills and promote inclusion
To prepare and present displays of student's work


Essential

NVQ 3 / NVQ 2 TA qualification or equivalent
Experience of supporting learning appropriate to age range of pupils
Excellent communication skills


Desirable

Experience supporting literacy and numeracy
Experience of a similar role
Area of specialism core, non-core subject
Excellent ICT skills
SEN experience
