QUALIFIED SOCIAL WORKER - PART TIME OR FULL TIME

Our client who are a residential family assesssment centre based in an attractive coastal location are looking for an experienced and qualified social worker in child protection and assessment.

You will have a small and manageable caseload and will need to understand complex child protection issues and work well with parents in difficulty. You will be part of an assessment team and will need excellent report writing skills to generate reports for the use of courts and local authorities


To suit the culture you will be enthusiastic, multi tasked and have a sense of humour! Our client is "massively family/child friendly" so the role would also suit someone looking for part time hours. The role would also be good for a local authority social worker who has taken early retirement too early!

A degree in Social Work, DipSW or CQSW or NVQ equivalent is essential.

JOB DESCRIPTION

To work in partnership with parents / carers and other agencies encouraging and empowering families to understand and meet the needs of their children. To be responsible for safety and security of all residents and property between specified employed hours. To engage effectively with the residents, to observe the restrictions of confidentiality and to respect the dignity of residents at all times.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

To monitor and observe
Provide 11 support / Advice
Demonstrate and promote social and interpersonal skills when appropriate
Keep appropriate written records
Meet agreed targets and objectives
Transport Residents if necessary to specified locations
Attend Family Reviews /Conferences as required
Maintain appropriate relationships with Referrers and other Professionals
To provide Outreach/Aftercare where appropriate
Provide Group Facilitation
To 'act up' if required
To undertake any appropriate training as required.
Take part in the cleaning of the centre.


To be aware of all Policies and Procedures
No member of staff to consume alcohol or mood altering chemicals prior to duty
Maintain a professional approach at all times
Good time keeping and attendance
Good overall conduct and presentation professionally
No member of staff may enter into a personal relationship with a resident, past or present, within 5 years of their completion of treatment at Serendipity
To ensure that house rules and expectations are adhered to - e.g. no smoking in the building
To attend Staff meetings
To attend regular Supervision and ongoing training
To carry out any other duties of a similar nature to those described herein as
shall be delegated to the post holder by the Manager
To actively support the achievement of Objectives
To actively participate in the annual appraisal scheme and to put forward
suggestions as to future personal objectives
To take on other tasks/duties deemed suitable by the Manager
