A Secondary School in Chesterfield are looking for a Teaching Assistant/Learning Mentorto work on a supply basis at the school possibly leading in to a long term role.
It is desirable that you have had experience supporting pupils between the ages of 11-16 years with special needs and have good behaviour management skills.
Key skills for Teaching Assistants/Learning Mentors include:
- Supporting Maths and English and various other subjects
- Supporting pupils with social and emotional issues
- Behaviour management skills
- To work with pupils on a one to one basis to help them overcome barriers to learning
- To provide a bridge across academic and pastoral support roles to enable students to engage more effectively in learning and achieve appropriately.
- To provide support with study skills, revision and exam techniques
