small to medium dog wanted

looking to adopt a small to medium family dog ,must be 100% with children as we are hoping this will also be theraputic for one of the children who is autistic .we have a good size garden and can offer plenty of walks and fuss the dog would not be left alone for any lengh of time ,would help if the dog was ok with cats there are a few in my road
