Senior Quality Engineer Required for Redditch Area

The Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Placement Consultancy are acting as an employment agency on behalf of one of our prestigious clients. The company is a well established and international company who are currently looking to recruit an experienced Senior Quality Engineer for their Redditch location.

The Role will involve the folowing duties/responsibilities;

Analyse potential/actual quality problems & determine the best course of action.
Review & analyse Non-conforming Product (NCP) on a daily basis.
Review the Main Frame on a daily basis & clear associated QDIs.
Monitor the supplier base & implement corrective actions where appropriate.
Audit the supply base at a suitable frequency.
Manage the PSW/PPAP process.
Conduct 5S audits,
Conduct system audits of the Business Operating System (BOS),
Ability to champion Practical Problem Solving (PPS) activities,
Evaluate and analyse issues relating to customer complaints.
Initiate and/or recommend corrective action.
Support product development teams in aspects of quality planning, product/design verification, process qualification, problem solving, quality techniques and tools.
Create, encourage and follow up on improvement ideas of the Quality department/production areas.
Facilitates the generation and implementation of improvement ideas; liaises Senior Management when improvement ideas cannot be implemented by the production areas.
Work closely with team members at all levels to establish and maintain quality related metrics to satisfy company statistical requirements and aid driving continuous improvement activities.

The Candidate Requirements

Previous experience in a wire forming manufacturing environment.
Detailed knowledge of quality management systems and standards, auditing and application of engineering principles.
Experience & knowledge of MRP systems
Excellent practical application of Quality tools, such as 6 Sigma,
Capability Analysis, PPAP, FMEA and more.
IT literate, competent in Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills / Customer interface
Well developed organisational skills, with the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
Diplomatic approach to resolve quality issues.
Practical hands on approach
Strong desire to challenge the status quo and to make positive differences and influence change.
Attention to detail, logical and methodical approach.
