Our client based in Worcester is part of a rapidly expanding group of companies with locations throughout Europe. It's core business comes from the sale and renewal of domain names as well as other online products such as hosting, broadband and web design. Due to phenomenal growth and a period of consolidation across the group the management team are seeking to appoint a Business Intelligence Analyst/Datawarehouse Specialist to strategically develop and implement business intelligence software and systems across the company.
You will be responsible for selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements and rolling out the business intelligence solutions to end-users. You will naturally be responsible for ensuring high levels of business intelligence availability across the group through in-depth testing. Below are details from the job description:
* Access and cultiate long-term strategic goals for business intelligence development in conjunction with end users, managers, clients and other stakeholders
* Develop semantic layer, metadata, reports, definitions, graphs and interfaces
* Analyse user requirements and based on findings, design functional specifications for business intelligence front-end applications
* Work with project managers to ensure that data entry, retrieval, change and delete functions meet with business requirements
* Conduct duties and responsibilites in line with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
* Conduct research and make recommendations on business intelligence products, services and standards in support of procurements and development
The following essential requirements have been set for the role:
* University Degree in the field of Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Information Systems or Computer Engineering
*Experience with tier-one applications, databases and data warehouses such as Oracle 10i or MS SQL Server
* Experience with database design applications, data processing flowcharting techniques
* Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles and practices
* Ability to analyse user requirements and build front-end business intelligence applications according to specifications
* Exceptional analytical, conceputal and problem solving abilities
* Availability for frequent and sometimes lengthy business travel within Europe (Namely France, Italy, Spain)
